Sixers drop 4 spots to 12 in latest ESPN edition of Power Rankings
The Philadelphia 76ers just wrapped up a pretty tough week for themselves. They lost all three of the games they did play, including two pretty bad ones to the very shorthanded Miami Heat and the equally as shorthanded Brooklyn Nets, and they had a fourth game postponed on Sunday.
As they begin a new week on Monday to take on the Boston Celtics, there is hope that they can turn things around. The Sixers are still dealing with the Ben Simmons saga and they are dealing with injuries and COVID issues, but they still have Joel Embiid. As long as the big fella is healthy, they will still have a shot.
With the new week, it brings a fresh and new edition of power rankings from ESPN. The Sixers have dropped four spots in the rankings and are now ranked at No. 12:
It was a rough week for the 76ers, who dropped three games to Memphis, Miami and Brooklyn and had Sunday’s game postponed because of a COVID-19 outbreak. Yes, the 76ers are missing Ben Simmons and have some injuries themselves, but things look very, very different in Philadelphia now as compared to when the team was leading the Eastern Conference through 10 games.
The Sixers will head to Beantown on Monday and look to snap this three-game losing skid that they have been on. A new week means a new opportunity to turn things around and get moving in the right direction again.
