Sixers’ Doc Rivers wins Eastern Conference Coach of the Month award

The Philadelphia 76ers had a strong ending to the season when they finished 15-7 on the way to clinching the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. They were winning games short-handed and they were able to show off some of the depth that they possess on the roster.

With that bein said, they have needed somebody to lead them and that man is Doc Rivers.

Rivers led Philadelphia to a 54-28 record, their most wins since the 2000-01 season, and he has the Sixers in a prime position to reach the finals this upcoming playoff run. For the way the Sixers ended the season, he has been named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for March and April.

Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins took home the award in the Western Conference.

Rivers and the Sixers have work to do as they now prepare for the NBA Playoffs. They will take on the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the postseason with Game 1 beginning on Saturday at 1 p.m. EDT.
