Sixers 3 goals: Charlie Brown Jr. has to add more to offensive game
In this new series, Sixers Wire looks at the 20 players, per Sportrac, that comprise the Philadelphia 76ers roster — 18 currently under contract and the two players on two-way deals — and gives each three goals for the 2022-23 season.
The new season begins on Oct. 18, and training camp begins on Sept. 27. Now is the time to begin previewing the new season of adventure that is Sixers basketball. Philadelphia will have to trim a few players as the active roster limit is 15.
This edition focuses on Charlie Brown Jr. who is on a two-way contract after playing 19 games for the Sixers in the 2021-22 season. He averaged 1.5 points and 1.6 rebounds while starting two games.

Add to his offense
At the moment, Brown Jr. is one of the better perimeter defenders on this roster. He earned a lot of respect from teammates and coaches as he continues on his journey to an NBA roster for his defensive work. However, his offense left a lot to be desired.
Brown Jr. shot just 11.1% from deep and 26.5% from the floor overall for Philadelphia. He has potential to be a legitimate contributor at both ends of the floor, but his offensive game needs to come along.
Push Isaiah Joe
Heading into training camp, Isaiah Joe will have a non-guaranteed contract that will become guaranteed on opening night. Brown Jr. can push him with a strong training camp and preseason. At the very least, Brown Jr. could at least catch the eye of the coaching staff.
Learn from the veterans
Brown Jr. is on a veteran-laden roster with guys who have substantial playoff experience. They understand what it takes to be successful in this league. He should take the opportunity he had in the 2021-22 season and then carry it with him into training camp for the new season and grow as a player. His offensive game needs to take that next step in his career.
