Silva: Jose Suarez worth rostering in most formats

Drew Silva explains how Jose Suarez could be a long-term solution to the Los Angeles Angels' pitching problems and how he could be worth rostering in most fantasy formats.

DREW SILVA: In the Angels' still ongoing and often highly frustrating search for starting pitching help, they have turned to a promising internal option in 23-year-old lefty Jose Suarez, and it appears, based on the early returns, that he really might be part of the long-term solution to the problem. There could be some short-term upside here, too. Between his nine relief appearances this season and his two recent turns in the Angels' starting rotation,

Suarez has registered a 2.29 ERA, 1.189 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 35 and a third total innings pitched. And in his longest outing to date, on July 11 against the Mariners, just before the all-star break, Suarez tallied four strikeouts, while allowing only three hits and two walks across five innings and one run ball to earn his fourth win of the season. Featuring a hard [INAUDIBLE] fastball, a very good curveball, and a changeup that he deploys often, in both his former relief role and now as a starter, Suarez looks to be worth rostering in most standard fantasy formats, or at the very least worth considering as a streamer in the right matchups.
