Sights and sounds from final day of Commanders’ minicamp

The Washington Commanders wrapped up their three-day mandatory minicamp Thursday. Washington is one OTA practice away from breaking for training for six weeks until the team reports back to Ashburn in late July.

Defensive ends Chase Young and Montez Sweat, along with left tackle Charles Leno Jr. were back with the team this week after missing the voluntary OTAs. Young looked explosive, and head coach Ron Rivera seemed encouraged by Young’s health.

Quarterback Sam Howell had an up-and-down week, but overall, Rivera believes Howell has shown them exactly what he needed to in order to remain QB1 heading into training camp.

Veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett did have a good week and will continue to push Howell throughout camp.

The Commanders are back on the field Tuesday for one last OTA practice.

Here are some of the sights and sounds from the final day of Washington’s minicamp.

The team was back in the practice bubble Thursday due to the poor air quality from the Canadian wildfires.
