1. Southern 8, 5. Wall 0: Senior Brady Lesiak set the Southern school career RBI record and had run-scoring hits in the first and second innings, junior Mike Kaczynski went 3-for-4, scored three runs and had an RBI and seniors Roger Dreher, Matt Desiderio and junior Tyler McLeod combined on a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Rams (18-4) advanced to the SCT final for the first time with the win over the Crimson Knights (16-5).

Dreher pitched the first 4 2/3 innings. He allowed one hit, struck out eight and walked three while throwing 66 pitchers. Desiderio relieved Dreher and after walking the first batter he faced and giving up a single to second batter he faced, he got No. 3 batter Jake Howlett to pop up to the catcher to get out of the fifth and keep the score 4-0.

McLeod allowed a hit, retired six of the seven batters he faced and struck out three over the final two innings.

Lesiak, who is eligible to start the championship game and can throw 77 pitches Wednesday night at 7 at ShoreTown Ballpark, Lakewood against Christian Brothers Academy semifinal, had an RBI single in the bottom of the first and a run-scoring double in the second.

Senior catcher Gabe Tomei had an RBI triple in the fifth. Kaczynski had a run-scioring single in the sixth and senior Logan Zeitler had a two-run triple in the sixth.

Fahey just got in ahead of the tag of catcher Aiden Funk after the pitch bounced back to him off the back stop.

Fahey had led off the seventh with a walk. He then stole second and moved to third on a fly ball to right by Danny Tsimbinos before the first delivery from reliever Brandon Hendrickson got by Funk.

Red Bank Catholic had tied the game in the top of the seventh on a leadoff hit batsman and two consecutive errors on sacrifice bunt attempts by CBA pitcher Danny DiTullio.
