Late surges lifts Eshenroder to April 15-22 Athlete of Week honors
Emily Eshenroder’s fans got to the ballot box in the final hours.
The Monroe High girls soccer player ranked fifth in Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week for April 15-22 voting as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday with 172 votes.
By the time the polls closed at 11:59 p.m. that night, she had nearly doubled her total with 342.

She needed that surge to stay ahead of fellow soccer player Elizabeth Klocek of Bedford, who finished with 337.
Dundee track and field athlete Maddie Salenbien took third with 314.
