Three days after bringing a transfer center aboard for next season, Seton Hall basketball has added another.

Santa Clara senior Jaden Bediako committed to the Pirates late Monday, joining Austin Peay center Elijah Hutchins-Everett as part of what figures to be a platoon at the position in 2023-24.

Here are three things to know about Bediako, who is heading into his fifth and final season of eligibility.

1. He’s a true center.

At 6-foot-10 and 245 pounds, the Ontario native plays with his back to the basket. He attempted just two 3-pointers over four seasons with Santa Clara. He shot 52 percent from the field this past season, averaging 6.0 points and 4.9 rebounds in 22 minutes per game, after shooting .566 from the field as a junior.

2. He’s been part of a successful program.

Santa Clara made the NIT this past season, posting a record of 23-10 overall and 11-5 in the West Coast Conference. This after finishing 21-12 in 2021-22, 12-8 in 2020-21 and 20-13 in 2019-20.

3. His younger brother plays at Alabama

Charles Bediako is a 7-foot sophomore center who averaged 6.4 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 66 percent from the field for the SEC champions this past season. He is exploring the NBA Draft process but has retained his college eligibility.

Here is a look at Seton Hall’s projected scholarship depth chart for 2023-24 with four open scholarships remaining.

Guards: Kadary Richmond, Al-Amir Dawes, Dylan Addae-Wusu, Jaquan Sanders, JaQuan Harris.
