See how the Rogers, Middletown, Portsmouth and Tiverton high school golf teams fared

High school golfers were out in force on Wednesday as the four Newport County squads all participated in matches. Portsmouth swept to wins over Tiverton and Mount Hope while the Tigers also beat the Huskies. Middletown fell to Barrington and Rogers lost to East Providence and to Bay View Academy.

Joe Nardolillo and Vincent Milici, Portsmouth golf

Nardolillo earned medalist honors as the Patriots recorded a team total of 182 in defeating Tiverton (215) and Mount Hope (221) on Wednesday at Green Valley Country Club.

Nardolillo came through with a 40 on his home course and Milici was next for the Patriots and second overall as he shot 43.

Max Nasser and Nick Phelan, Middletown golf

Middletown went head-to-head with perennial power Barrington in its first road match of the season and bowed to the Eagles 167-219 at Rhode Island Country Club.

Eight of nine Barrington golfers who participated – including medalist Cole Vieira – shot between 40 and 44. Nasser led Middletown with a 48 while Phelan shot 52.

Keegan Dutelle and Helana Kesson, Tiverton golf

Dutelle and Kesson helped the Tigers earn a split of their Eastern Division match on Wednesday at Green Valley Country Club. Dutelle had a team-best score of 49 and Kesson shot 54 as the Tigers topped Mount Hope 215-221 and fell to host Portsmouth 182-215.

Brady Toner and Maddie Murphy, Rogers golf

East Providence golfers finished in the first three spots as the Townies defeated Rogers 174-248 and Bay View 174-225 on Wednesday at Newport Country Club. Toner led the Vikings with a 58 and Murphy shot 60 as Rogers also lost to Bay View.

Kaden Thomas and Elijah Neal, Rogers boys track

Thomas and Neal each were involved in a pair of event wins as the Vikings took down St. Raphael 99-46 and Mount Hope 131-17 on Tuesday. Thomas won the shot put with a 40 feet, 11 inch toss and the discus (119-1). Neal won the high jump with a 5 feet, 6 inch effort and teamed with Jordan Neves, Chris Connerton and Devon-ta Campbell to win the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.7 seconds.

Other Rogers winners were Neil Porter (javelin), Lucca Maher (hammer), Dajuan Hazard (long jump), Bailey Farnum (pole vault), Travis Burroughs (triple jump) and Jakari Medina (110 hurdles).
