Section football games and scores from around central Minnesota

SAINT CLOUD — Already it's the section semifinals in Minnesota high school football and several St. Cloud-area teams are in the hunt to score a trip to their championship game.

Many of the playoff games will be played around the central-Minnesota area. Read here for a schedule of games and check back in for score updates throughout the day.

Section 5-2A

Three-seed Holdingford (6-3) travels to the second seeded Kimball Cubs (6-2) at 2 p.m. The teams' prior meeting Oct. 6 was a close one. Kimball won at home 30-28.

Section 5-3A

At 2 p.m. two-seed Foley (5-4) plays three-seed Mora (4-5) for the first time this season.

Fifth seed St. Cloud Cathedral (4-5) tries to upset Annandale (8-0) on the road at 5 p.m. The teams have not met this year.

Section 6-3A

Two-seed Albany (6-2) hosts three-seed Montevideo (6-3) at 3 p.m. It will be the second game in a row the teams have faced off, with the Huskies edging a 43-42 win in the last week of the regular season Oct. 18.

Section 8-4A

Top-seeded Becker (8-0) hosts the four seed Princeton (7-2) at 4 p.m.

Three-seed ROCORI (6-2) travels to the second seed Detroit Lakes (7-1) at 1 p.m. The Spartans and Lakers opened the season against each other back on Sept. 1, with ROCORI falling 27-25.

Section 8-5A

In Sauk Rapids, the second-seeded Storm (7-1) play third-seed Elk River (3-6). Sauk Rapids beat the team Sept. 30, but only 30-28.
