Seahawks jump up 2 spots in NFL power rankings ahead of season opener

The Seattle Seahawks are set to square off against the Colts in Indianapolis for their season opener this year. Ahead of all the Week 1 matchups, Nate Davis of USA TODAY Sports released the pre-kickoff edition of his 2021 NFL power rankings.

The Seahawks have jumped up two spots from No. 12 to land at No. 10.

“Add new coordinator Shane Waldron’s offense – and it wasn’t unveiled with starters in preseason – to a defense that’s skewing younger, and it’s worth wondering if the defending NFC West champs might stumble at a time when the relationship with QB Russell Wilson seems tenuous,” Davis writes.

Both the Rams (No. 6) and 49ers (No. 9) topped the Seahawks in the rankings heading into Week 1.
