Seahawk Chad Wheeler released on bond after domestic violence arrest

Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Chad Wheeler was arrested on suspected felony domestic violence in Kent over the weekend and was placed in King County Jail early Saturday morning.

After an initial court hearing on Monday, he received an order to relinquish all weapons and not come in contact with his girlfriend, the alleged victim in the matter. He was released from jail after posting a $400,000 bond on Tuesday.

The details of the incident are disturbing and detailed in a report obtained by the Seattle Times.

Wheeler is an impending restricted free agent, but may not be in the Emerald City for much longer if this incident is any indication.

In addition, he played in the final five games of the 2020 season in relief of Jamarco Jones and others with little success, which only raises the skepticism regarding his future in the NFL.
