Scottie Scheffler joins 2024 Memorial Tournament field with Wyndham Clark, Rickie Fowler

The No. 1 golfer in the world will be at the 2024 Memorial Tournament.

Scottie Scheffler will play in his fourth Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club June 6-9, the tournament announced. U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark, six-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa, Rickie Fowler and Will Zalatoris wll also join Scheffler in the tournament field.

Rory McIlroy, two-time Memorial champion Patrick Cantlay and reigning Memorial champion Viktor Hovland have already confirmed their place in the field.

In each of his three previous Memorial appearances, Scheffler has finished in the top 25. He has back-to-back third-place finishes and has a scoring average of 70.83, the fourth-best in tournament history.

In 2024, Scheffler won the Arnold Palmer Invitational, THE PLAYERS Championship, the Masters and RBC Heritage.

Scheffler is coming off an eighth-place finish at the PGA Championship in Louisville. Prior to the second round of the championship, Scheffler was arrested by Louisville Metro Police with charges of second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding traffic signals.

"This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers," Scheffler said in a statement. "It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do. I never intended to disregard any of the instructions. I'm hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today."

Clark will play in his fifth Memorial. His best finish was in 2023 where he tied for 12th place.

Homa will play in his fifth Memorial where he finished in the top-10 in 2021 and 2022.

Fowler is making his 15th consecutive start at the Memorial where he's finished in the top-25 seven times. He finished tied for ninth in 2023.

Zalatoris will play in his third Memorial. He tied for fifth place in 2022.
