Here are Saturday's high school sports results for the Appleton and Green Bay area

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Fox Valley Association Tournament

KIMBERLY - Kimberly won the tournament, going 4-0 at the event.

In the opening pools in Pool A, Appleton North beat Notre Dame 2-0, Notre Dame beat Appleton East 2-0 and Appleton North defeated Appleton East 2-0. In Pool B, Kimberly beat Fond du Lac 2-1, Fond du Lac beat Appleton West 2-0 and Kimberly beat Appleton West 2-0. In Pool C, Kaukauna beat Sheboygan North 2-0, Neenah beat Sheboygan North 2-0 and Neenah beat Kaukauna 2-1.

In the Gold Power Pool, Appleton North beat Neenah 25-14, 25-12; Kimberly beat Neenah 25-16, 25-11; and Kimberly beat Appleton North 24-26, 25-23, 15-11.

In the Silver Power Pool, Notre Dame beat Kaukauna 25-16, 25-22; Fond du Lac beat Kaukauna 25-20, 17-25, 15-10; and Fond du Lac defeated Notre Dame 26-24, 21-25, 15-10.

In the Bronze Power Pool, Appleton East beat Sheboygan North 25-19, 25-20; Appleton West beat Sheboygan North 25-14, 25-20; and Appleton East beat Appleton West 25-19, 25-22.

Kimberly was led in assists by Gage Stahmann with 72. He also had 13 digs and 10 aces. Owen Krause had a team-high 25 kills. Brady Koester and Lucas Eckrose had 24 and 21 kills, respectively. Eckrose also had 16 digs while Krause had 15 digs.

Other noteworthy Kimberly numbers included Kameron Kemp with 27 digs and Jack Hruzek with 17 digs.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Kettle Moraine/Brookfield Central The Block

WALES - Fox Valley Lutheran finished in second place at the 30-team tournament, losing to Oak Creek in the championship match.

The Foxes beat Eau Claire Memorial 25-16, 30-28 in the gold bracket quarterfinal, then swept Holmen 25-18, 25-12 in the semifinal. Oak Creek beat the Foxes 25-22, 25-13 in the championship.

Annalise Patchett had 56 kills, six aces and 43 digs, Emma Nilson had 46 kills, six aces, 14 digs and 12 blocks, and Ava Patchett had 75 assists and 41 digs for FVL. Riley Schmitz added 115 digs and Molly Bixby had 79 assists, 29 digs and nine aces.

Other FVL leaders were Brianna Stewart with 19 kills and 17 digs, and Sophie Wunderlich with 18 kills and 12 digs.

Luxemburg-Casco tied for fifth place at the tournament.

In pool play, the Spartans beat Oak Creek 2-1, Kettle Moraine 2-1, Brookfield Central 2-1 and Onalaska 2-0, then lost to Eau Claire Memorial 2-1. In the gold bracket, Muskego beat Luxemburg-Casco 2-1.

Alayna Deprez had 84 assists, 42 digs and 10 aces for the Spartans. Aubrey Frey had 61 kills and 36 digs, Ella Vender Velden had 21 kills and 20 blocks, and Payton Kaminski had 88 digs.

“I am proud of the fight our girls showed, they really battled and found a way to win in some tight, tough battles,” Spartans coach Jeff Frey said. “We faced some adversity with some injuries, and we need to continue to work and grow in how we handled adversity.”

Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invitational

JACKSON - Xavier won the 21st annual invitational, improving its record to 21-1 on the season.

The Hawks defeated Wisconsin Lutheran 26-24, 26-24; Union Grove 25-12, 25-8; Catholic Memorial 25-11, 25-16; Edgewood 23-25, 25-12, 17-15; Waunakee 25-13, 25-22.

“The depth of our team was on full display today as we dealt with injuries and illnesses that limited some players on court availability,” coach Luke Herriges said. “The team responded with all hands on deck and grew tremendously today against great competition.”

Mariah Potter led Xavier with 91 assists, Belle Shea had 48 digs and 11 aces, and Halle Vande Hey led in kills with 26.

Other notable Xavier numbers include Jena Bunks with 14 digs, Ali Tylinski with 23 kills, Mattea Kiepert with 13 kills, Annika Kowalski with 10 kills, Olivia Neumann with 15 kills and Madison Daley with 16 kills and seven aces. Sydney Neilitz added nine assists.

Shawano Invitational

SHAWANO - Pulaski finished with a 2-3 record at the tournament.

The Red Raiders beat Peshtigo 25-16, 25-16, lost to Oconto Falls 25-22, 18-25, 10-15; lost to Wausau West 25-21, 18-25, 10-15; beat Clintonville 25-21, 25-14; lost to Brillion 13-25, 25-23, 7-15.

Emma Quinnell led Pulaski with 28 kills. Lauren Kellner and Alexia Thibodeau added 22 and 21, respectively. Thibodeau also had 30 digs and 15 aces.

Grace Feutz led Pulaski with 35 digs. Alyssa Spates added 21.

Bella Valdez had 40 assists. Spates had 28.

Ashwaubenon Invitational

ASHWAUBENON - NEW Lutheran finished 2-2 in the tournament, which was good for a fourth-place finish.

The Blazers defeated Hilbert 25-20, 16-25, 15-11 and Wrightstown 25-19, 14-25, 16-14. Calumet (Mich.) beat the Blazers 25-22, 25-17 and Sevastopol beat NEW 13-25, 25-17, 15-13.

Emma Laatsch had 44 kills and 42 digs. Abby Kirchner had 98 assists and 38 digs. Lexi Dhein had a team-high 63 digs. Lexie Meerstein had 18 kills and seven blocks.

BOYS SOCCER

Hortonville 4, Green Bay East 1

Hortonville 8, Manitowoc 0

GREEN BAY - Dylan Glad scored three goals and had an assist in the Polar Bears’ win over Green Bay East.

Noah Rindt had Hortonville’s fourth goal while Josh Jakusz had an assist.

Nathan Bolling had one save for Hortonville.

In Hortonville’s win over Manitowoc, Dylan Glad had four goals and an assist. Elliot Veder, Andrew Heinz and Caleb Schewe also scored for Hortonville. Roman Glad and Jakusz each had an assist.

Bolling did not have to make save against Manitowoc.

St. Mary Catholic 3, NEW Lutheran 0

GREEN BAY - The Zephyrs took a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by AJ Groppel and extended it in the second half with goals from Kieran Barrientos and Jacob Hall.

Nathan Seiske and Groppel both had assists for St. Mary Catholic, which outshot NEW Lutheran 28-7.

Waupun 1, Seymour 0

WAUPUN - Ethan Cunningham scored in the 51st minute to lead the Warriors to the win over the Thunder.

Seymour had five shots on goal but Waupun goalkeeper Jonas Buchholz turned away all five for the shutout.

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Roncalli 1

MANITOWOC - The Foxes got goals from Jim Lee and Mason Londre in the win over the Jets.

Kaleb Williams and Ben Keller each had an assist.

Goalie Matthew Callaway had three saves over 80 minutes for Fox Valley Lutheran.

Amherst 2, Algoma 0

WAUTOMA - The Falcons got goals from Carlos Lopez and Milo Graham in their win over the Wolves.

Algoma put pressure on Amherst keeper Alex Martin, who recorded five saves but couldn’t find the back of the net.
