Sarah Mokrzecki voted North Jersey Softball Player of the Week for May 13-19

After three days of voting, St. Mary's Sarah Mokrzecki was selected as the North Jersey Softball Player of the Week.

Mokrzecki had 24 strikeouts in 16 innings in the circle as the Gaels won all three games this week. At the plate, she was 5-10 with five RBI, five runs scored and a homer.

Here were the other nominees:

Lily Allmendinger, Passaic Valley

The sophomore helped the Hornets to three wins, scoring three runs against both Passaic Tech and West Orange, and then going 3-4 with two RBI in an 8-0 win over Bergen Tech. For the week she was 7-11 with three RBI.

Savanna Czornomor, Passaic Tech

The senior Wagner commitment has had another great season, and last week she broke the school record for hits (112). She also owns the school record for home runs with 21 in her career.

Annali De Dios, Elmwood Park

The senior has been a key contributor all four years at Elmwood Park and recently went over the 300 strikeout total in her career. She had a season-high 16 strikeouts in a win over Pal Park last Monday.

Emily Ignacio, Leonia/Bogota

Ignacio had 23 strikeouts in three games this week, including eight strikeouts in a two-hitter as Leonia/Bogota beat Ridgefield to claim their first league title since 2011.

Eliza Mullen, Ridgefield Park

Mullen had three hits against West Milford and five against Englewood giving her 182 in her career, currently putting her fifth all-time in North Jersey history.

Valerie Visconti, River Dell

The only team in Bergen County hotter than Ramapo is River Dell, who has won five straight. The Hawks scored 24 runs in two wins this week. The sophomore went 4-7 at the plate with five RBI and four runs scored.
