Rutgers football recruiting: What five official visits will Jaylen McClain be taking?

Jaylen McClain is moving towards a commitment date this summer with five official visit destinations in place. One of those programs that is expected to get an official visit? In-state program Rutgers.

McClain released a top 10 earlier this month that included a number of top-tier Power Five programs with Rutgers part of that mix. He is the No. 157 player in the nation according to ESPN.com and a four-star recruit.

The talented safety plays at Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.).

His five official visits, as of now, will be USC, Notre Dame, Oregon, Ohio State and Rutgers. Dates for the official visits are still being worked out.

Per On3, McClain is the eighth-best safety prospect in the country.

Last June, McClain talked to Rutgers Wire about his recruitment and where things stand with the Scarlet Knights:

“My relationship is great with coach [Mark] Orphey and ‘coach H’ (defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak). They always make sure to check-in. I visit a lot so I have had some great talks with them and have a good connection.”

This Sunday, McClain will be participating at the Rivals New Jersey camp in Piscataway, N.J.
