Russell Wilson ‘grateful for the memories’ with Pete Carroll
It’s the end of an era for the Seattle Seahawks. After 14 years, Pete Carroll has been dismissed as head coach. While he will still be with the organization in an advisory role, Carroll stepping aside is nevertheless a stunning development – one that has shaken the fanbase and the Seattle sports media to its core.
Reactions to the news have varied from fan to fan, but the overwhelming favorite emotion is that of gratitutde – gratitude for everything that Carroll accomplished during his time as head coach and for all the memories he helped make happen. One guy who shares that sentiment is Carroll’s former starting quarterback and sometimes nemesis, Russell Wilson. Here’s what Russ shared on Twitter.

Together, Wilson and Carroll were one of the most-successful QB/head coach duos in modern league history, winning 104 regular season games, multiple postseason appearances and one Super Bowl victory.
That run ended in early 2022, when the Seahawks traded Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Over his two years with the Broncos he went 11-19 and was benched with two games to go this season. Sean Payton has said the decision isn’t finale, but it appears Wilson is on his way out of Denver.
