The Rush: OBJ getting noise complaints?
The NBA is back! After a long summer of too much baseball and not enough football, the Association made its triumphant return. The NBA kicked off its regular season slate with a pair of games last night. First, the Celtics hosted the 76ers. Then, in the nightcap, the Warriors took on the Thunder. A lot has changed in the 128 days that have passed since the Warriors swept the Cavs in the 2018 Finals. Giants owner John Mara is not having a good year. First, actress Claire Foye replaced his niece Rooney as the title character in the latest Dragon Tattoo movie. Then his Giants fell to 1-5 in what appears to be a lost season in a string of lost seasons. So John Mara called out Odell Beckham Jr. for giving a strange interview on ESPN with Lil’ Wayne where he called out his teammates. Mara suggested the highly compensated wide receiver should do less talking and more playing. All of this ignores the fact that the man whose job it is to throw OBJ the ball is Eli Manning, a 37 year old quarterback three years removed from his last quality season.
