The Rush: MLB contingency plan offers Dodgers chance at revenge against Astros

America is starting to reopen but Dr. Fauci has a word of warning for sports fans, one MLB contingency plan involves an alignment baseball hasn’t seen since 1900 and the NFL is making serious salary cuts (Roger Goodell included). PLUS Jameis Winston is working for peanuts, Adam Vinatieri has somehow played in the NFL for a quarter century, and is Mannywood going to Taiwan?

- 5, 3, 2, 1, 0.

- Later, you'll find out just how much Jameis earned with all that hard work. But first, there's news about when sports are coming back. It ain't good.

STEWIE GRIFFIN: What?

- In a recent interview, Dr. Fauci said the country just ain't ready to ball out get, and some leagues may even need to cancel the entire season.

- The whole thing?

- The whole shebang.

- If that happens, MLB has the most to lose, which is why the league is doing its best to figure out a contingency plan. MLB is considering beginning to play in July with a shortened season of about 100 games, which to me is still about 94 more games than you need, but it's cool. The plan also involves realigning all 30 teams into just three divisions, meaning we may get that Astro-Dodgers rematch we want.

- Payback time.

- It also means a season without two leagues for the first time since 1900, which is about the same year Manny Ramirez was born.

CHRIS GRIFFIN: What?

All right. He's only 47. But Mannywood is trying to make a comeback to pro ball, and I'm all for it. 47 is a new 37, anyways. Just ask Adam Vinatieri. He's 47 and coming back for his 25th season.

- Damn!

- That's a quarter century of kicking. Of course, he may need to take a pay cut, though. The NFL announced furloughs and salary cuts across the league, though they didn't cancel any games, and they killed the draft, so they probably should be given raises. But nobody took a bigger cut Roger Goodell. The commissioner ain't even getting a paycheck. Goodell requested he not be paid any salary last month. If he keeps that up, who's gonna [INAUDIBLE] the sweater vest?

MICHAEL SCOTT: Boom. Roasted.

- Goodell ain't the only one doing his part. Jameis Winston made $21 million last year, but his new contract with the Saints is only worth $1 million. Now, of course, it is loaded with incentives that can up the check to $3.4 million. I mean, he can probably get a million a pass and every eye exam. Another million dollar for his touchdown-interception ratio, because you know, they're usually pretty close.
