The Rush: Marshall Faulk gives his Super Bowl prediction, how Tom Brady could return, and more
Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk joins the Rush from Radio Row at Super Bowl LVI to discuss: who Marshall is picking to win the Big Game, which current team he’d love to play on if he was in his prime, and the special circumstance that might make Tom Brady come out of retirement. PLUS: Marshall Faulk’s alma mater San Diego State is unveiling a brand new stadium: Snapdragon Stadium. JARED QUAY: Tom Brady recently was back in the media because someone asked him what he ever come back from retirement. He said, never say never. Being away from the game, what do you think? Tom Brady comes back?
MARSHALL FAULK: I think there's one team, and it's the New England Patriots.

JARED QUAY: What's up, everybody? We're hear on Radio Row, and I got none other than Super Bowl champion and Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk. How are you doing today, brother?
MARSHALL FAULK: I'm doing great, man.
JARED QUAY: All right. I know you've got to have some bias to the Rams. Obviously, that's your squad.
MARSHALL FAULK: I do. Let's just-- hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I do. Let's just clear the air. I'm biased. I'm pulling for the Rams.
- Surprise, surprise.
JARED QUAY: I mean, I get you. But I'm just saying, is there any like, doubt that maybe the Bengals might come out here and do something?
MARSHALL FAULK: Yes. Come on, man. Listen, you got to think about who Joe done slayed, man. He's taken down some people. Like, the boy is-- he's earned the right to be in this game. And what the Bengals have done, there's cause for caution. And I feel like the Rams are-- they're giving them their respect.
JARED QUAY: All right. So then let me hear this, all right? Take away the Rams and even take away the Colts because you got both of them. If you could play in today's NFL in your prime, what offense and what team and coach style would you want to play in?
MARSHALL FAULK: Kansas City Chiefs.
JARED QUAY: Yeah? Working with Mahomes? That'd be dangerous.
MARSHALL FAULK: It's not just Mahomes. It's Andy Reid. Andy Reid-- he's innovative. Their offense is not boring.
JARED QUAY: Yeah.
MARSHALL FAULK: You know, he's constantly challenging those guys, putting in New plays. And that's what you got to do sometimes because obviously you're gonna run your basic core stuff, but then you got to add some things. And he's OK with adding a little flavor, a little spice into it.
JARED QUAY: Yeah. Tom Brady recently was back in the media because someone asked him would he ever come back from retirement. He said, never say never. Obviously, you've been retired. Being away from the game, what do you think? Tom Brady comes back?
MARSHALL FAULK: There's one team, and it's the New England Patriots. Let's just say they're in there in the playoffs, or they having a run in this season. And all of a sudden you see Mac Jones get the Drew Bledsoe done to him.
JARED QUAY: Ooh, knock on wood.
MARSHALL FAULK: Brady would take that call from Belichick to come play in about three or four games, and maybe he gets another Super Bowl. He would take that call.
JARED QUAY: Yeah? I think they said Philip Rivers got called I think at one point when Carson Wentz got hurt. They were thinking about calling Philip Rivers.
MARSHALL FAULK: Oh, yeah. The Colts, the Colts.
JARED QUAY: Yeah.
MARSHALL FAULK: Yeah. No, that's-- yeah, yeah. Philip was like, nah, because its feelings was hurt because they got rid of him, and they traded for Wentz. So, you know, sometimes you get your feelings when your girlfriend decides to dump you for another dude. Then another dude treats her bad, and then she tries to come back to you.
And your feelings are hurt. Although you really know you like her, and you want to go. And the money's good anyways, but he just made a bad decision.
JARED QUAY: Yeah, he got to let that phone hit voicemail once, and then answer on the second call.
MARSHALL FAULK: There you go. Yeah, yeah. Definitely call back though.

JARED QUAY: Well, look man, you put up some crazy numbers at San Diego State. That's your old school, and they're about to open up a brand new stadium called Snapdragon Stadium. Can you tell us a little bit about that?
MARSHALL FAULK: Oh, yeah. State of the art stadium. I mean, it's going to be one of those destination spots where all the San Diego can conjugate. Hey, I don't know if people know, but the Chargers left. So those fans-- they're still thirsty for football, and we've captured that.
We had a great season last year. We're moving into our stadium in 2022, and we're just looking to creating that real home field advantage. You know, it's like this is where we play. That's what we're looking to do.

JARED QUAY: Obviously, we've been in the middle of a pandemic for the last two years.
MARSHALL FAULK: A little bit.
JARED QUAY: And NFL Alumni has launched a vaccination campaign to encourage people to get vaccinated. What can you tell us about that?
MARSHALL FAULK: And I want to make sure we say this right. It's not to encourage them to get vaccinated. Is to encourage them that if they choose to get vaccinated or you choose not to get vaccinated, to get the proper material on making that decision because some of the information that they're getting is false. Get the proper education and information to make the decision that's best for you and your family. Don't listen to your next-door neighbor.
JARED QUAY: Yeah, Don't be just listening to something you've seen in somebody send me an Instagram story.
