The Rush: Hawks upset Sixers, Phoenix stays hot and a golf streaker

Atlanta pulls off a huge upset in Philly, the Suns are hotter than a Phoenix sidewalk and golf gets a new U.S. Open winner/an amusing streaker

- Embiid has Gallinari on him, spins, lost the handle. Gallinari got a piece. Up is Gallinari. Down it goes.

JARED QUAY: A fan base that has a pension for anger must be about ready to flip a Buick right now. The heavily favored Philadelphia 76ers were upset by the upstart Atlanta Hawks in a game 7 on Sunday to move on to play the Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Ice Trae Young was ice cold for most of the game, going just 5 for 23. And, in fact, the coolest thing he did the entire game was this--

- And Howard just runs over Trae Young, who does some push-ups.

- Give me 10, young fella.

JARED QUAY: Luckily, the last guy picked during recess, Kevin Huerter, stepped up big time, dropping 27 points and keeping pace with the Sixers big guns. So I got a few questions. Where are we in the process? Are we still in the middle, and when does the process end? And are we sure Ben Simmons isn't a righty because he doesn't shoot very well with his left. Philly fans have to be asking these questions right now, especially since things aren't exactly going to get better when the Eagles kick off in the fall.

The city of Phoenix has seen record heat outside the past few days but nothing as hot as inside Suns arena. With no Kawhi Leonard for LA and no Chris Paul for the Suns, Devin Booker picked the perfect time to get his first ever triple-double as Phoenix took game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

- Booker has a layup, but he throws it down!

JARED QUAY: Booker's 40-point, 13-board, and 11-assist masterpiece was the first 40-point triple-double for the Suns since Charles Barkley in 1993. I know Chuck looks like he needs to buy two seats on an airplane these days, but my guy could ball. Anyways, down 9 with two minutes left, the relentless Clips cut it down to 2, and Steve Ballmer needed one of those ball boys to come mop the sweat off of him.

But D-Book scored the last 4 points, and the Suns grabbed their first Conference Final win since 2010. Yo, the Suns are taking it this year. I called it.

Finally, the US Open concluded yesterday in San Diego, and the tournament was blessed to have an all-time streaker performance on hole 13. Club in hand, he took a few very confident swings before switching sports to hoop and ball faking a cop out of his oxfords before getting blasted by another one. Normally, I despise streakers, but this is a golf tournament. The best thing about them are cheap beers, the smell of freshly cut grass, and someone yelling "you the man" on someone's back swing.

As for the tourney itself, Jon Rahm came from three strokes back to overtake the man they call Shrek, Louis Oosthuizen, to win his first major. And good for him because he's the guy that had a huge lead going into round 4 of another tournament this year and lost out on prize money because he tested positive for COVID.

So, again, get vaccinated if you don't want to miss out on a million dollars. Or if you just don't want to be a [BLEEP], look, if we all get vaccinated, then no one has to worry about this no more. No more getting shut down. No more Karens talking about why can't they get top ramen without their masks on.
