- Ethan Katz and Albert Abreu having fun with the corn and eating. That's feed corn, right?

- I think so. Yeah.

- He spit it out.

- [LAUGHS]

JARED QUAY: We'll get you back to the corn fields in a minute. But first, history was made last night with the WNBA's inaugural Commissioners Cup. The in-season tourney saw the Sun from the East and the Storm from the West go at it for prize pool of a half a million dollars. Seattle got the best of Connecticut to win the cup, even though five of their players just returned from Tokyo after playing in the Olympics.

Jet lag? Tired legs? I don't think so. The reigning WNBA champs weren't playing around. The players on the winning team are getting 30 G's each for winning the cup.

- Not bad.

JARED QUAY: But in Hollywood, there's a lot more money on the line. In the NBA, Kawhi Leonard is going to don a Clippers jersey for the foreseeable future. Kawhi agreed to a four-year contract extension for $176.3 million.

- What it do, baby?

JARED QUAY: That's a lot of money. But, yo, if the Clippers win at least one championship with Kawhi, it's got to be worth it, right?

- [LAUGHS]

JARED QUAY: Sports TV ratings show us that baseball is riding the struggle bus. Through July 2021, MLB didn't even show up on the ratings list for most watched sporting events until number 36. So what does a league do when ratings have declined for years?

- Build it. He will come.

JARED QUAY: Kevin Costner, the Yankees, the White Sox, and a few thousand fans did come to Dyersville, Iowa for an MLB game played on the site where the 1989 flick "Field of Dreams" was filmed. It was corny as hell but pretty dope at the same time. The White Sox was still at the Yankees, putting off four runs at the top of the ninth to take the lead and then did this at the bottom of the inning for all that corn.

- Back at the wall and the White Sox win it.

JARED QUAY: Yo, I couldn't have scripted it any better myself. But if we're going to do baseball movies in real life--

- Sandlot, sandlot, sandlot.

JARED QUAY: --how do we not start this trend with a sandlot game?

- You're killing me, Smalls.

JARED QUAY: And also, is there a classic movie without James Earl Jones? "Star Wars," "Coming to America 1 and 2," "The Lion King," for crying out loud. I'm thinking he's in Forrest Gump too. He was an extra in the background when Forrest Gump was saving people in the army. I thought I see James Earl Jones. I'm not sure it was him but I like to think so.
