The Rush: Curry makes the wrong kind of history, Warriors ride Wiggins to Game 5 win
Warriors superstar Stephen Curry went 0-9 from the three point line for the first time ever in the playoffs, but Golden State still beat the Celtics in Game 5, taking a 3-2 series lead. One important spectator missing from Game 5 was NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who has been placed in health and safety protocols. Plus, baseball gives us a lesson in geography, care of Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman who recently learned just how close Detroit is to the Canadian border.

JARED QUAY: Game 5 of the NBA Finals is in the books, and it was all Warriors in the first half against the Celtics. The home team held the Celtics off to just 39 first half points. But Boston got it going in the third, and even took the lead.
- --finds an open Horford. Horford for 3, and the Celtics take the lead!
JARED QUAY: But the Warriors throwed all that momentum back right at the end of the third quarter with another Jordan Poole buzzer beater, and then Golden State sealed the deal in the fourth. The nuttiest stat of the night, though? Steph Curry finished the game 0 for 9 from 3. For the first time ever in his career, he didn't make a 3-pointer in a playoff game.

JARED QUAY: It was all good, though, because Andrew Wiggins picked up the slack with 26 points and 13 rebounds.

JARED QUAY: The Warriors got to be feeling great, as they got a win with their superstar struggling and now they're one victory away from another championship. One fairly important guy who missed Game 5 was NBA commissioner Adam Silver. No, he wasn't in Vegas scouting for Lebron's future teams. At least I don't think he was. No, my man Mr Silver has been placed in the health and safety protocols.

JARED QUAY: We have no idea if he has COVID or if he's a close contact of someone who tested positive. But Mr Silver is the latest in a surge of NBA COVID cases. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr missed three games earlier in the postseason, and ESPN has been juggling their broadcast with Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Breen both missing time.

JARED QUAY: Well, at least the players have avoided the rona, somehow. How many of you know how close the Canadian border is to Detroit?
- It's close.
JARED QUAY: Like a 1.8 mile drive close. I didn't know, and neither did Toronto Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman. He was pitching on Saturday in Detroit against the Tigers and was shocked by how many Blue Jays fans made the trip, because Canada's like only a stone's throw away. See? Baseball isn't completely useless. You get to learn some geography along the way.
But I just want to point out that it's kind of unfair for the Blue Jays to basically steal home field advantage from the Tigers, all right? Detroit's been through enough. You shouldn't be using your passport stamps that easy anyways.
