JARED QUAY: The Cam Newton era in New England came to a grinding halt on Tuesday, as Bill Belichick cut the former MVP from the Patriots roster.

[? [WHISTLING] ?]

That leaves rookie Mac Jones as the starting quarterback.

- It's pretty ballsy.

JARED QUAY: Cam seemed to be all right with it. And he says we shouldn't feel sorry for him. But I admit, it's kind of got me feeling away. First of all, Cam has got to stop using that weird ass font on his Instagram post. It's barely legible.

- What does it say?

JARED QUAY: Second, I can see some areas where things went wrong for Cam in Foxborough. He struggled hard last season after getting COVID, and then ended up missing time during the preseason due to COVID protocols, and Cam's unvaccinated.

- What the what?

JARED QUAY: That's COVID hitting him twice. And yeah, Mac Jones looked good in training camp and in preseason games. But I'm pretty sure I know what's really going on here. This is all about Tom Brady living rent-free and Bill Belichick's head! And you know Bill had to be seething over Brady bringing the Bucs the Super Bowl in his first season without Belichick.

- God, I'm angry.

JARED QUAY: So this is how Bill gets revenge. He wants to show Tommy boy who's the boss. Bill got to prove that he can do it with another young rookie quarterback, coaching him up, winning the title, then taking all the credit. And you know who ain't falling for that? Asante Samuel. The former Patriot and two-times Super Bowl champ blasted Bill on Twitter, calling the roster move cold-blooded and saying that the Pats magic is with Tom Brady and not Belichick.

[INCORRECT BUZZER]

He's got to be mad about that. And I'm going to take Asante's word for it. All right, Belichick fans, I see you with your thumbs down. You take that nonsense to New York.

After getting their hands slapped by ownership, the era of Mets players thumbing down angry fans has come to an end. Javi Báez and Francisco Lindor apologize for using sign language that offended the people who were screaming noises at the Mets players when they were losing. And I think that's some serious weak sauce. Fans can dish it out, yet they can't take a fricking thumbs down?

- Boo!

JARED QUAY: How many times have you booed, Mets fans? Y'all are some real babies. And it could have been way worse. Think about it, in Gladiator days a thumbs down mean that you were going to die.

[CROWD CHEERING]

Now, it just means we don't like how you're doing it. It's kind of a PC way of insult, too, because there's worse of things you could be holding up.
