Roundup: Updated cancellations list, including Friday basketball & All-City Wrestling Meet

BATTLE CREEK - With inclement weather coming into the region, Friday night basketball games throughout the area were postponed.

In the city, these are the games postponed as of Friday morning as reported to the Enquirer:

Harper Creek at Battle Creek Central boys basketball

Coldwater at Pennfield boys/girls basketball

Lakeview at Loy Norrix girls basketball

Climax-Scotts at St. Philip boys/girls basketball

All-City Wrestling

The annual All-City Wrestling Meet, scheduled to be held at Harper Creek High School on Saturday, was also postponed due to weather. No reschedule date as of yet.

Thursday boys basketball

Loy Norrix 72, Lakeview 69

Due to a quirk in the schedule, Lakeview faced Loy Norrix for the second game in a row. After the Spartans beat Loy Norrix on a buzzer beater during the Parma Western Holiday Tournament final last Thursday, Lakeview fell short in the late going in this Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference game as the Knights rallied in the fourth quarter. Loy Norrix outscored Lakeveiw, 21-15, in the final period to pull out the win. LeBron Campbell had 25 points and six rebounds to lead the Spartans, who fall to 7-3. Maddox Bishop added 10 points for Lakeview.

Kalamazoo Central 84, Gull Lake 61

Gull Lake falls to 6-6 as Kalamazoo Central stayed undefeated in SMAC play. Kai Watts had 23 points to lead the Blue Devils with Gavin Markucki adding 11 and Ryker Corstange and Evan Kaiser each coming up with 10.

Stevensville-Lakeshore 44, Battle Creek Central 37

Battle Creek Central is now 1-7 with the loss at home to Stevensville-Lakeshore (2-6). Dae'Priece Andrews had 10 to lead the Bearcats with Josh Harris adding nine.

Quincy 45, Maple Valley 34

Quincy led 23-14 at halftime and came away with this Big Eight win to improve to 7-4. Brandon Miner had 12 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for the Orioles. Maple Valley falls to 4-6.

Galesburg-Augusta 70, Martin 19

G-A led 21-9 after the first quarter and rolled to this conference win to improve to 7-2. Ethan Thomas had 14 points to lead the Rams with Adam Hubbard adding 12.

Thursday girls basketball

Battle Creek Central 40, Harper Creek 34

Battle Creek Central climbed to 7-1 with a win over city rival Harper Creek (4-6). A'Mya Hodges had 16 points to lead the Bearcats with Myliyah Mosely adding 11. Alyssa Smith had 10 points to lead the Beavers with Ella Chantrenne adding eight.

Colon 60, Bellevue 15

Colon stays undefeated with the SCAA win over Bellevue (1-6). The Magi led 28-2 after the first quarter. Reese Williams had 32 points and nine rebounds to lead Colon.

Athens 35, Burr Oak 31

Athens improved to 3-3 overall with the win over Burr Oak (4-4). Kami Parlin had 10 points with Maria Bronsink adding nine for Athens.
