Roundup: Johnstown girls win 3,200 relay at district meet

Allison Bonito, Maren Boston, Reece Savage and Audrey McCrady ran a time of 9:56.51 to win the 3,200 relay Wednesday for the Johnstown girls track team during the Division II meet at Westerville South.

The Johnnies qualified for next week’s regional at Lexington.

In the District 1 boys meet, Licking Valley’s Trevor Croak swept the discus (151-feet-7) and shot put (57-3.75). Heath’s Brayden Bayles won the long jump (21-7), and teammate Joshua Jones won the high jump (6-0).

Heath’s Carter Higgins took runner-up in the discus (147-2) and third in the shot put (48-1.75) with Northridge’s Xavier Fiamingo taking fourth in the shot put (45-5.5).

In the pole vault, Valley’s Cooper Hornfeck took runner-up (13-0), with Heath’s Tyler Hudson third (12-6) and Northridge’s Bodhi Foster fourth (12-0). Valley’s Jacob Wheeler placed third in the long jump (20-11.75), and his teammate, Marshall Carr, was third in the high jump (5-8).

In the District 2 boys meet, Johnstown’s Alan Villa took runner-up in the shot put (48-10).

McCracken wins title

Annie McCracken cleared 11-feet-4 in the pole vault for Granville, winning the event during the Division I, District 3 meet at Hilliard Darby.

McCracken qualified to next week’s regional meet at Pickerington North.

Megan Cummiskey placed third in the high jump (5-0) for the Blue Aces, and teammate Nora Carrington added a fourth in the long jump (16-3.5).

In the boys meet, Newark’s Ayden Bidwell in the discus (151-5) and Payton Taylor in the long jump (21-8.25) each took runner-up.

Watkins Memorial’s Andrew Kirk placed third in the discus. (149-0). Granville’s Greyson Ingle placed third in the pole vault (13-0) and teammate Cade Roberts fourth in the high jump (6-3).
