After breaking away late in the week, Hononegah's star softball player Dani Franz claimed this week's Rockford Register Star's High School Athlete of the Week poll victory.

Franz was 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and a double, five RBIs and two runs scored as Hononegah steamrolled Jefferson 15-0 last Wednesday. The senior catcher was hitting .431 with 28 RBIs entering this week. Franz then hauled in over 46 percent of the votes to pull away for the win in the poll for the week of April 29-May 4.
