Rock Creek takes two from Irish

Apr. 12—The Rock Creek Mustangs baseball team swept Chapman 3-0 and 10-0 at Rock Creek on Tuesday.

The Mustangs Daegen Vinduska and Chapman's Cade Hanney were locked in a pitcher's dual throughout the first four innings of the second game. The game was scoreless until the Mustangs pushed two across in the third inning and then added a single run in the fifth for the final 3-0 score.

Vinduska and Mack Lee held the Irish to three hits combined as they struck out 10 and walked five. Hanney tossed the first three and twp-thirds inning allowing two earned runs on five hits. He walked four and struck out three. Jed Moody gave up an unearned run on one hit over two and one-third innings. He struck out two and walked one.

Levi Willmann singled twice and Ray Whitehair had a hit for the Irish.

Rock Creek jumped out early in the first game scoring three runs in the first inning. They added two in the third, a single run in the fourth and four more in the fifth for the victory.

Carson Hasenbank and three relief pitchers allowed seven earned runs on eight hits over four and two-thirds innings. Hassenbank got the start and was charged with the loss. The Chapman staff walked six batters and struck out three.

Hasenbank, Aven Woods, Willmann and Cooper Lewis accounted for Chapman's four hits in the game.

Rock Creek's Cooper Sieben got the win for the Mustangs.

Chapman moved to 3-5 on the year and will play at Southeast of Saline today.
