Robin Yount will be manager for a day with Lake Country DockHounds

For one day, the greatest player in Milwaukee Brewers history will serve as manager of the Lake Country DockHounds.

The Dockhounds, the American Association of Professional Baseball team in Oconomowoc, announced that Robin Yount would appear on a "1-day contract" to be an honorary coach during Robin Yount Day on Aug. 19 at the team's home, Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.

Yount will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and spend time coaching first base in the game. Fans in attendance will have a chance to win a meeting with Young and receive an autographed No. 19 DockHounds jersey.

The DockHounds will play their third season in 2024; the squad is part of the same league that features the Milwaukee Milkmen, based in Franklin.

Yount has maintained a baseball presence in Milwaukee since the end of his 20-year career with the Brewers in 1993. The Baseball Hall of Famer also held a minority ownership stake in the Lakeshore Chinooks, a Northwoods League summer ball team that launched in 2012 and plays in Mequon; the team's ownership changed hands in 2021. Yount has also made numerous appearances at American Family Field.

His Robinade lemonade brand can be found at several locations around the Milwaukee area, including at the DockHounds stadium.
