Cam Collier and Rhett Lowder, Cincinnati first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, lift Dayton
Cincinnati Reds pitching prospect Rhett Lowder, the 7th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 MLB draft, impressed in his second start for the High-A Dayton Dragons on Friday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in five innings against the Kernals in Cedar Rapids.
Lowder's ERA through two starts for the Dragons is 1.00, with 10 strikeouts in nine innings. Last week, Lowder pitched four shutout innings in his minor-league debut.
Lowder debuted earlier this year in MLB Pipeline's top 100, at No. 34.
Cam Collier, a 2022 first-round pick of the Reds, won Friday night's game with a go-ahead, three-run homer in the top of the 9th, driving in Ethan O'Donnell and Sal Stewart.

Final line for Dayton starting pitcher Rhett Lowder against @crkernels: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 Ks. No decision for the 2023 Cincinnati Reds top draft pick. Fastball topped at 96. As one of the TrackMan operators up here in the pressbox noted: "His slider is filthy." #Reds
