Report: Zac Taylor hasn’t lost Bengals locker room, narrative pushed by handful of players

The idea Zac Taylor has lost the Cincinnati Bengals locker room has gained traction in recent weeks.

Most of it comes from Carlos Dunlap repeatedly speaking out about his role with the team, though the 3-18-1 record for Taylor so far hasn’t helped.

But according to a new report from Fox 19’s Jeremy Rauch, the narrative just isn’t true.

Rauch wrote the following: “Several sources inside the Bengals organization told FOX19 Now on Wednesday emphatically that the locker room is not lost – far from it.”

There’s also this big point: “Sources also told FOX19 NOW that a select one or two players have been driving the narrative of a lost locker room.”

The points aren’t too surprising, though it doesn’t help that wideout John Ross reportedly requested a trade and that Geno Atkins’ name has come up in a report alongside Dunlap as players not happy right now.

That said, players interviewed this week have been emphatically against the idea Taylor is losing the locker room. And for his part, Taylor sent a message to Bengals fans on this very topic.

The fact this is even a topic of discussion speaks to how far off the rails things have gone so far. But a new leadership core featuring Tyler Boyd, Jessie Bates and others have made it clear the team is on the same track and doing their best to improve.
