Report: Warriors trigger fourth-year option for Moses Moody
The Golden State Warriors have triggered their fourth-year team option on Moses Moody‘s contract. He will earn $5.8 million throughout the 2024-25 season before becoming a restricted free agent the following summer. Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes broke the news on X, formerly known as Twitter. Golden State acquired Moody with the 14th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Moody has looked impressive to start the new season. The third-year guard has provided a spark off the bench. Over his first four games of the season, the 21-year-old is averaging 9.8 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, shooting 56% from the field and 41.2% from 3-point range. Moody earned himself his first start in Golden State’s Oct. 30 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Moody will likely have a significant role to play throughout the season as his impact on the second unit continues to grow. Potentially sharing a backcourt with Chris Paul will also be a learning experience that could see Moody’s game evolve in the coming months.
By triggering the final year in his current contract, the Warriors are showing faith in his development and desire to retain his services moving forward.
