Report: Sixers beginning to gauge trade interest in Tobias Harris, others

The Philadelphia 76ers have a star duo in the form of Joel Embiid and James Harden that they believe can guide them to a championship. However, there are some tweaks on the roster that still need to be made in order to help them in the playoffs.

The Sixers could use a guy who will do all of the little things in order to help a team win, a la P.J. Tucker, and they could use more depth on the wings in order to properly contend in the Eastern Conference.

They do have some trade assets, most notably Tobias Harris, and it does appear that they are beginning to gauge trade interest on the veteran as well as others on the roster.

Per Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer:

Multiple league sources have said the team is gauging team’s interest in Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton, in addition to potential trade partners for Danny Green and the No. 23 pick.

The Sixers are trying to gauge the market and see what they can get for the players and draft pick, one sources said. This approach is part of their effort to compile information and see what deals could work when it’s time to make a trade.

The Sixers have already begun to shop both Danny Green and the No. 23 pick, but Harris is the one who probably has the most value at this point in time. Green will miss a majority of the 2022-23 season and Philadelphia might not get much back in a trade involving the veteran out of North Carolina.

Management understands that this roster is not yet suited to contend for a title as they need quality depth behind their starting lineup. A trade involving Harris and Thybulle would be a big step forward as they begin to retool the roster.
