Report: Ravens’ Marcus Peters fined for logo celebration vs. Titans

The perceived payback the Baltimore Ravens were notching when they celebrated and stomped on the Tennessee Titans’ logo following an interception by cornerback Marcus Peters has come with a price.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Peters has been fined $15,000 after celebrating on the logo and for his “physical actions directed at the Tennessee bench.”

More likely than not, celebrating on the logo itself wasn’t where Peters ran into a problem considering none of his other teammates who took part were fined, but rather it was a result of his “physical actions.”

Based on this angle, it’s hard to see where Peters went wrong as compared to his teammates:

This entire situation in and of itself was ridiculous to begin with.

The Ravens thought the Titans were disrespecting them in Week 11 when the team congregated on Baltimore’s logo prior to kickoff, which led to a pregame spat.

In fact, Lamar Jackson and Co. were so offended by the past action that they ran off the field without shaking hands after the clock ran out on the Ravens’ Wild Card victory over the Titans.

In reality, meeting on the logo at midfield is a pregame ritual the Titans have done for years now, and it wasn’t specifically designed to anger opponents, as linebacker Will Compton and left tackle Taylor Lewan recently reiterated.

Regardless, it was a means of motivation for the Ravens, and they ended up getting the last laugh.
