Report: Nick Bosa to play 30-40 snaps vs. Steelers

The 49ers have a plan for Nick Bosa’s playing time. Fox’s Jay Glazer on Sunday reported Bosa will play 30-40 snaps in the season opener after missing all of the preseason during a contract holdout.

While there’s some wiggle room and the team will see how Bosa is holding up in his first NFL action since January, Glazer cited TJ Watt’s groin injury after a prolonged holdout in 2021 as a reason the 49ers will be cautious with Bosa.

San Francisco has a slew of other options at DE with Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, Drake Jackson and Kerry Hyder who will need to pick up any slack left by Bosa’s in-game absences.
