Report: Nets trade Kevin Durant to Suns for Mikal Bridges, others

The Kevin Durant era with the Brooklyn Nets is officially over. After 3.5 seasons and just 129 games and one playoff series win, the Durant era is over in Brooklyn as he will be sent to the Phoenix Suns in a deal.

After trading James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers at the 2022 deadline and Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 5, the Nets will send Durant to the Suns in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first-round picks, and a 2028 pick swap as well as Jae Crowder.

The Nets will now turn their focus to a bit of a rebuild. The championship dreams are dashed for the moment. Durant averaged 29.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists during his time with the Nets.

When the Nets traded for Harden in January of 2021 to team up with Irving and Durant, it was assumed that they were going to win the title considering the immense talent they had on the roster. Fast forward to two years later and all three of them are gone.
