Report: Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor in talks for a second fight

Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor II? Could be.

According to a report at FightHype.com, the Hall of Fame boxer and MMA star are negotiating to meet in a boxing rematch. The outlet cited “sources close to the information.”

Mayweather would collect a nine-figure payday, as he did when he stopped McGregor in the 10th round of a sanctioned bout, the last of Mayweather’s career.

No other details were provided in the report, including whether the bout would be sanctioned or an exhibition.

Meanwhile, McGregor made it clear that he’s interested in running it back with his rival. He posted a photo from their first fight on Thursday with two words: “I accept.”

Mayweather, 45, reportedly will face Japanese MMA star Mikuru Asakura in September, Mayweather’s third exhibition. He was last in the ring in June of last year, when he faced Logan Paul in an exhibition.

McGregor is coming off a stoppage loss to Dustin Poirier in UFC 164 last July, a fight in which McGregor broke his leg.
