Report: Brooklyn Nets agree to one-year deal with guard Lonnie Walker IV
The Brooklyn Nets have made some interesting moves in this offseason as they have achieved the most important task of their free-agency by re-signing forward Cam Johnson. It looks like they are not done making additions over the course of the free-agency period.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Nets have agreed to a one-year deal with guard Lonnie Walker IV. Walker IV, 24, has been in the NBA for the past five seasons after being drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 18th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of the University of Miami (FL).
Native of Reading, Pennsylvania, Walker IV averaged 11.7 points per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 36.5% from three-point land for the Los Angeles Lakers last season. He has gotten better every season and during the Lakers’ second-round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors, Walker IV averaged 10.6 points per game.
Brooklyn also agreed to a one-year deal with guard Dennis Smith Jr. to bolster the depth of their backcourt.
