Report: Broncos OLB Von Miller will miss 2020 NFL season

Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller will miss the entire 2020 NFL season after suffering an ankle injury, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Miller will undergo season-ending surgery. Miller will get a second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay but he’ll likely confirm the linebacker’s season is over.

Miller, 31, was selected by Denver with the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft after he won the Butkus Award at Texas A&M. Miller quickly became one of the top pass rushers in the NFL, earning eight Pro Bowl selections.

Miller dominated Super Bowl 50 following the 2015 season, leading the Broncos to a 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. Miller took home Super Bowl MVP honors after that game and he finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2012.

Miller’s 106 career sacks rank second in franchise history. Denver probably won’t officially place Miller on injured reserve before he gets a second opinion on Thursday. The Broncos will also likely sign a free agent pass rusher to take Miller’s spot on the 53-man roster after he goes on IR.
