Clark Traders record 12-5 EDL amateur baseball win over the Castlewood Monarchs

MILBANK — Redfield posted wins over Hamlin U16 10-0 on Friday and Volga Post 114 8-0 on Saturday in an American Legion Baseball tournament.

Owen Osborn tossed a two-hitter and Redfield Post 92 used a five-run second inning to roll past Hamlin. Nolan Gall went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in and Keaton Rohlfs added two hits, including a double, for Redfield.

Watson Grantham and Jacob Williams each had singles for Hamlin.

Rohlfs and Erik Salmen each had two hits and Peyton Osborn tossed the five-inning shutout in Saturday's win over Volga. Jack Opitz had two hits for Volga.

Volga downed Hamlin 11-3 in another game on Saturday, getting two hits including a triple from Opitz and two hits and two RBIs from Dawson Doysher. Grantham had two hits for Hamlin.

Groton Post 39 fell to Lake Norden 8-5 on Friday before posting wins over Claremont 8-0 and Milbank 20-12 on Saturday.

Cristhian Rodriguez drove in four runs with a double and a single for Lake Norden. Bradin Althoff smacked a double and a triple for Groton.

Althoff also fanned nine batters in the win over Claremont that featured two-hit performances by Brevin Fliehs, Tate Larson and Colby Dunker. Grant Cutler had two hits for Claremont.

Fliehs went 4-for-7 with two triples and a double and Dunker 4-for-4 with two doubles in the win over Milbank Post 9. Merik Junker went 4-for-5 with a triple and a double and Justus Osborn tripled and added two singles for Milbank.

Clark Traders 12, Castlewood Monarchs 5

CASTLEWOOD — Bryce DesLauriers' bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning snapped a 3-3 tie to sparked the Clark Traders to the Eastern Dakota League win.

Clark, 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the EDL, scored four runs in both the seventh and ninth innings to pull away.

Grayson and Rhett Florey and Zach Winter each had two hits for the Traders. Rhett Florey doubled and tripled and drove in four runs. Hudson Fuller struck out nine batters in seven innings for the win. Jeffrey Paulson pitched the final two innings for the save.

Jacob Steffensen drove in two runs with two hits for the Monarchs (0-2 and 0-2). Booker Schooley and Brandon Benike each doubled. Beau Schooley struck out six batters in seven innings.
