Recruiting analyst: O-line transfer is down to two schools: USC and Missouri

We noted that USC is making a run in the transfer portal at Houston offensive lineman Cam’Ron Johnson. New analysis from 247Sports — specifically recruiting analyst Clint Brewster — says the Trojans are one of two schools left in this portal recruitment.

“Former Houston offensive lineman Cam’Ron Johnson has received a 247Sports transfer grade of 89, the highest possible 3-star rating, and is considering USC and Missouri according to Clint Brewster,” 247Sports wrote. “Johnson started all of the Cougars’ 13 games at left guard last season as a redshirt junior, earning First Team All-American Athletic Conference honors. He entered the NCAA transfer portal March 8.

“Houston transfer OL Cam’Ron Johnson has been ranked with an 89 overall grade in the portal,” Brewster wrote on Twitter. “Very clean and light on his feet in pass pro. Shows leverage and athleticism. Down to USC and Mizzou.”

So there you have it. USC needs defensive linemen more than any other position players, but another offensive lineman is certainly valuable, given the recent loss of Courtland Ford to the portal.
