Reading Fightin Phils announce 2024 preliminary roster

Apr. 1—The Reading Fightin Phils will begin the 2024 season on Friday with four of Philadelphia's top 30 prospects on the roster.

Reading announced its preliminary roster on Monday, which is highlighted by several top prospects: outfielder Gabriel Rincones Jr. (ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the Phillies farm system by MLB Pipeline), outfielder Carlos De La Cruz (No. 13), catcher Caleb Rickets (No. 21) and Robert Moore (No. 26).

Of the four prospects, De La Cruz is the only one who played for Reading last season. He posted a .259 batting average with 24 home runs and 67 RBIs in 129 games with the Fightin Phils.

The roster includes one player with major league experience: Beau Burrows. The right-handed pitcher appeared in six games with Detroit from 2020-21 and five games with Minnesota in 2021.
