Ravens ILB Roquan Smith gives thoughts on adding OLB Kyle Van Noy to defense

The Baltimore Ravens signed outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy to their practice squad a few days ago, and called him up to their active roster on Saturday. The team needed pass rushing help after placing outside linebacker David Ojabo on injured reserve and still missing Odafe Oweh and Tyus Bowser, so Van Noy will help fill that void.

After the addition of Van Noy, inside linebacker Roquan Smith shared his feelings on the move. He said that he has a lot of respect for Van Noy, and mentioned that he’s a “well-seasoned” veteran who he’s excited to welcome to the team, while going as far as saying that he thinks he’ll be a great addition to the team.

“I have a lot of respect for ‘K.V.’ [Kyle Van Noy] and the way he even came in today, and the way he’s been approaching things since I first met him. His leadership, as well, is … [To see] just how smart the guy is [and] how quickly he picks up on things – already out here today, [he’s] calling out things, so when a guy comes in like that … A well-seasoned veteran [whose] been in a lot of different schemes, so he knows exactly what we expect of him. And I’m just excited to welcome him to the team and I think he’s going to be a great addition for us.”
