Rams did not claim any players off waivers

The Los Angeles Rams sat sixth in the waiver order following final cuts this week but they didn’t take advantage of their high slot. According to the NFL transaction wire, the Rams did not claim any players off waivers.

A total of 11 teams were awarded players on the waiver wire, with only one former Ram player being claimed: defensive back Quindell Johnson. The Bears claimed Johnson, though the Raiders also put in a claim for him so he was a popular player.

With players such as Logan Bruss, Robert Rochell and others clearing waivers, the Rams can now sign them to the practice squad if they’d like to. Teams can begin assembling their 16-player practice squad Wednesday.

While they didn’t add any players off waivers, the Rams are working to sign kicker Brett Maher, who did not hit the waiver wire because he’s a vested veteran.

The Rams will need to cut a player from their 53-man roster to make room for Maher, or they can simply place Ochaun Mathis on injured reserve to open up a spot.
