Rams Clipped by Chargers, 27-24
Stedman Bailey had a big day, but it wasn't enough to avoid a frustrating loss for the Rams against the Chargers, 27-24, in San Diego.
Shaun Hill was troubled by turnovers, finishing 18 for 35 with 198 yards passing, one touchdown, two picks and one fumble. Philip Rivers finished 29 for 35 with 291 yards passing, one touchdown and one pick for the Chargers.
Tre Mason gained 62 yards on 16 carries and had one reception for 26 yards. Bailey was a highlight, catching seven passes for 89 yards while adding a touchdown.
The St. Louis defense stood its ground in the loss, giving up 128 yards rushing and 291 passing while bringing back one interception for a touchdown. They sacked Rivers three times.
Chargers running back Ryan Mathews had a big game, putting up 105 yards rushing and one touchdown. Wide receiver Keenan Allen also put together a noteworthy performance with 104 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Next week, the Rams host the Raiders (1-10) while the Chargers head to Baltimore to face the Ravens (6-4).
