Raiders place two on injured reserve, designate two others for return

There was a lot of injury news this week. Some good, some bad, some uncertain. That injury news was accompanied by some roster moves today.

First, they sent RB Kenyan Drake (ankle) to injured reserve along with LB Nick Kwiatkoski (ankle). Drake’s season is over with a broken ankle while Kwiatkoski could potentially return this season.

At the same time, they designated veteran DT Darius Philon for return from IR along with rookie S Tyree Gillespie. It opens the 21-day window for both to return to the lineup. CB Trayvon Mullen was designated for return last week and could be activated this week against the Chiefs.

Additionally the team officially added LB Will Compton to the practice squad and released S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix from the practice squad.

Compton was with the team in 2019, so they’re familiar with each other. With injuries to several of the team’s linebackers, Compton could potentially get elevated quickly.
