Raiders defeat Rams in Week 2 of the preseason, 34-17

The Raiders remain undefeated. Well, at least in the preseason. The Raiders picked up their second preseason win, defeating the Los Angeles Rams 34-17. The Raiders controlled the game, holding the Rams to 224 total yards of offense.

For the most part, the Raiders looked really good on offense. Jimmy Garoppolo got the start and led the first-string unit on a touchdown drive. He was replaced by Brian Hoyer, who did not play well despite throwing 22 passes in the game.

Aidan O’Connell did it again on Saturday, leading multiple touchdown drives in the second half. He threw a gorgeous touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a bullet to Kristian Wilkerson in the back of the end zone. After an impressive performance last week, O’Connell might have been even better this week. At the very least, he is challenging Hoyer for the No. 2 job.

The Raiders will finish the preseason by taking on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. That game will kick off at 8:00 PM ET on Saturday, August 26.
