Raiders' Carl Nassib has top-selling NFL jersey at Fanatics day after coming out

There has been no jersey as popular as Carl Nassib's since he came out as gay Monday.

Fanatics announced that the Las Vegas Raiders defensive end's jersey was the top-selling item across the NFL from Monday to Tuesday.

Nassib posted an Instagram video on Monday announcing he's gay, becoming the first active publicly out NFL player. He wrote that "representation and visibility are so important." The 28-year-old pledged $100,000 to the Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis and suicide prevention services to the LGBTQ+ community. The NFL announced it would match Nassib's donation.

Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jeff Rohrer, the first former or current NFL player to enter into a same-sex marriage, told USA TODAY Sports: "He has no idea how many people he’s affecting – in a good way. The NFL needed this, to get past the milestone."

Fanatics, the NFL's official e-commerce partner, said Nassib topped NFL jersey sales based on the company's network of online stores.
