Quantrill looks like 'different pitcher' lately

Christopher Crawford highlights Cleveland Indians SP Cal Quantrill's recent success and encourages fantasy managers to add him where available.

CHRISTOPHER CRAWFORD: Cal Quantrill came over to Cleveland in the deal that shipped Mike Clevinger to the Padres, and the eighth overall pick of the 2016 draft has more than looked the part as of late since joining the rotation. He was particularly impressive on Friday against the Tigers, where he struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings.

And while that's the best start of the year-- that's the best start of the year for most pitchers-- it's just a continuation of what Quantrill has done since joining the rotation in the middle of July. He has not allowed more than a single earned run in any outing since the All-Star break. He's got at least six innings in his last four while posting a 0.7 ERA and 23:8 strikeout to walk ratio.

The 26-year-old has solid stuff, and he throws [INAUDIBLE] pitches for strikes. And while the metrics here suggest there's been some good luck, it's also fair to say that he looked like a different pitcher in the second half of the season. Now don't expect too many double digit strikeout games for Quantrill down the stretch, but this does look like a pitcher who has figured things out and he's someone fantasy managers should consider adding to their roster down the stretch.
