Purdue football vs. Virginia Tech set to resume

BLACKSBURG, Va. − About 30 minutes before Purdue football was scheduled to kick off against Virginia Tech on Saturday, Lane Stadium was evacuated.

Fans were advised to seek shelter in the concourse due to severe weather approaching.

The game kicked off at 12:30, but with 5:50 to go in the first quarter, thunderstorms caused the stadium to again be evacuated.

At about 4:30 p.m., Virginia Tech officials announced the game will restart at 6:15 p.m.

Purdue leads Virginia Tech 7-0 on a 15-yard Devin Mockobee touchdown run. The Boilermakers started their second drive on their own 4, but marched to midfield and will face a third-and-seven from the Virginia Tech 49 when play resumes.
